Ruger No.1

I've always fancied one of these and I was lucky enough to find one for a good price and in .243". The scope came with it as well and its the first time I have ever seen anything like it. I think its an excellent idea to keep the scope centre mounted close to the barrel.

Nice rifle! I've always liked these they have a classy look to them.

These old single shot Rugers are lovely. I had a Ruger No. 1 in 45/70 and sold it - bad move! I just bought a No. 3 in 45/70 to make up for it.

thats very nice that looks like a longer barrel than the norm, the short stubby looks of the reg no1 always put me off

Thanks. Will have to measure the barrel later now you've said that, it was produced around 1974 so maybe short barrels were not quite as fashionable back then.

My local Cabelas store had one for sale last year, but it was in. 458 Lott, but I was too scared to buy it!
