FB(UK) Shooting club

This has been discussed in the past and again today so time to float the idea, so here are some thoughts and hopefully Heather will put me straight if I am wrong on this.

NRA Affiliation for a non HO approved club is GBP60/PA
Non NRA members would be charged by the NRA at GBP7/each
Range pass including insurance is GBP215/PA which would be required so that meetings could be booked for non NRA members.

As this would not (At least initially) be a Home Office approved club SCC's could not be issued so members could either sit the SCC course with the NRA which gives a 4 year SCC or do it with another club which means membership of a second club. Additionally non FAC holders could not join the club.

Obviously the easiest option is sign up with the NRA, and join the F-B(UK) Club, meetings can then be booked on line by whoever is nominated as the secretary or similar.

A constitution is required.

So if this was a primary club for insurance purposes the cost per member/year with club insurance would be around GBP30-35/year if 10 people signed up, anything beyond the hard costs would go towards running the club, so telephone calls, paperwork etc.

On top of this would be the cost of targets/markers as and when required.

I would envisage a mix of competitions and club meetings on at least a monthly basis covering all disciplines, or as many as possible.

Does anyone have any further views on this, and be interested in being a member?

This would get us into Bisley plus any private ranges we could come to an agreement with, we would need range licences to shoot at DE (MoD) Ranges, from memory the licence is around GBP100/PA per range.

EDIT there is no reason why the club members could not be divided geographically by many hundreds of miles as long as agreements could be made with local ranges.

Another thought - it should be totally open book accounting so any member at any point could see the state of finances. It would need a Chairman and Secretary and personally given our different locations and affinity to the webynet could AGM's and club meetings be run electronically, Such as within the forum as long as we had an agenda?

I cannot see any problems with an AGM run via the forum. Least you can grab a beer when the boring stuff is discussed :shifty:
Joking aside, That could work just fine with the open accounts aswell. Looking forward to this kicking off.
