Another "Help find me a rifle" thread...

Following on from Sim G's thread, i'm in the same dilemma...
Variation going in tomorrow for another .223, and i know exactly what i want.... but I don't know what make/model.
This will be for shooting 55 to 75 gn bullets at paper from 25 to 600yds
So I'm looking for a:
1. Bolt action
2. At least 22 or 24 inch, 1:9 or 1:8 twist heavy/Varmint barrel.
3. Preferably magazine fed, but not essential
4. Preferably not with a Hogue synthetic stock... (had one on a Rem 700 SPS and it was awful!)
5. Under £1k new
The barrel twist (and price limit!) may be the problem... I liked the Howa 1500's, but they're mainly 1:12 twist, with 1:9 hard to find.
I think at least one of the Remington 700 models would fit the bill, however, the aforementioned 700 SPS Tactical (bought new) was probably the most inaccurate rifle I've ever owned, so thats put me off Remingtons... maybe unfairly, but still enough to put them at the bottom of my preference list.
Any suggestions..?
TIA
