I'm thinking of getting one of the new Ruger Precision rimfire rifles. I'm told that there have only been 67 imported into the UK at the moment so I'd like to know if any of the membership have one and their thoughts.

I shot one at a Viking Arms open day. I really liked it and it was certainly accurate enough - shooting outdoors at 50yds. My only thoughts - is there a UK market for a tactical-style bolt-action rimfire when you can have an equally accurate semi.

I used one in the US recently, and as the Pimp says, they're accurate enough... we were hitting targets out to 140 yds... but I'm not convinced it would be any more accurate that a CZ, Sako or Anshutz.

Then you have the price.... the Americans were saying its a great accurate rifle for $400.... they were shocked when i said it was £1k over here.

I'm shocked too, they should be in the region of £650-700. RRP of £690 IIRC, but I have seen a few that have gone for a bit less.

I have a Ruger American in .22LR and by the time you add in the MDT LSS chassis it probably would have been cheaper to purchase a Ruger Precision Rimfire (had they been available at the time).

Cheapest on Guntrader is £625, so £600 is a good price. Highest on GT is £690.

Ok, I'd got it wrong then.. I'm sure I'd seen something, maybe in an initial write-up, saying they were going be about £1k..
