Any Savage experts out there?

I'm trying to find out if there are any differences (other than one having a magazine well), between the Savage mod 12 F/TR and the DM version.
I'm looking at the GRS Sporter stock that's inletted for the DM version, and wondering if the F/TR action would fit.
Obviously, only the front and rear action screws could be used, but the DM centres are the same as the F/TR at 4.4", so it might be possible to fill the mag well and install a pillar for the middle screw.
I'm trying to avoid the wallet trauma that would occur if I bought one only to find there was another major difference that made it definitely not-doable.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
