Yes. I don't like killing for the sake of killing. So eating them and getting the hide is a definite plus if I ever had to kill any.

At the moment, there's only Reds here and they're definitely off the the menu.

The last reds we saw were in Denmark and Andorra, it must be 40 years since I saw them in the UK. I did spot some Blacks earlier this year at Barton Road.

Thank you. Yes I would, they had a thing on R4 years ago about eating them, chopped into big bits, covered in seasoned flour and deep fried. I have always wanted to try some ever since.

Yes, I've ate the rat of the sky...what could be worse?

Our local RFD serves them up on sticks just for fect.

What is it like to eat? I can think of, and have eaten worse. Oddest was pigs cheeks in Mondragon (Basque region of Spain)

Wot, squirrel? No idea. Ate pig trotters when small...a bit fatty and small bits of ham, surprisingly.

Squirrel is very tasty to eat, a lot of folks over here hunt and eat them. As stated chopped up and rolled in season flour and deep fried. As to how they taste, well I'd say they taste like pork though a wee bit sweeter. I've also had squirrel stew, very tasty indeed. Forget about them being tree rats or sweet little furry critters. Squirrel is good to eat.
