Browning Medalist 12g

Looking for some information and ideally a manual for a Browning Medalist 12g as my Dad has just got a second hand one.
Any help much appreciated.

It is indeed. Like in this case it would tell you that the Medallist is/was an importers special, not made by Browning or Miroku but predominantly by Sabatti (FIAS). As a fairly standard Italian gun it would therefore have more in common with any of the offerings out of Italy than those out of Japan, Belgium or the US.

I agree that Google is wonderful but not when your Dad can't use a computer and wants information more specific to that actual shotgun and not a generic Browning user manual which is very vague to that actual model.

“The Medallist does not actually have any thing to do with Browning or FN . It was a budget gun distributed by the then Browning UK [A company set up to distribute the Browning range ] as an additional line”
The early ones were made by Zoli, the remainders by Sabatti (FIAS). As such you won’t find a manual on the Browning web site.

Thanks for those I have already shown those to my Dad but in his words "thats not an owners manual!"
He isn't an easy man to please!

Clearly.
You are very unlikely to find an owners manual. If you knew exactly what he wanted to know, I’m sure you could find it out. Any competent gunsmith would be able to work on what is a standard pattern Italian boxlock.
To be blunt if he wanted bells, whistles and manufacturer support, used budget guns from uncertain sources weren’t the best bet.

If you’re using google to search, bear in mind the spelling.
Medalist = a pistol
Medallist = a shotgun
At first glance it would seem daft to name two products from the same company in such a way, but of course they weren’t from the same company and the importers who so named them didn’t give a hoot as they had no knowledge of a US market pistol.
