Hi,
What size (or even a specific make/model) of ultrasonic cleaner would suitable for about 100 .44 magnum cases?
I figure I might as well start getting ready for when I my FAC come through.
Thanks

Buy one big enough to hold a BP revolver.. then when you move to the dark side it will be dual purpose :-)

I bought a 9 litre, but I cannot fit the whole gun in. I strip it and clean the part, especially the cylinder whilst I hand clean the frame.
What I learnt is the dimensions stated do not include the basket and you should not lay parts directly in the cleaner.

Don't think I will be able to go that large.

I bought a 4 ltr version from the 'bay, that will hold 100 .223 in plastic racks, so should be fine for .44

I bought a James Ultra 8060 a couple of years ago. It's exactly the same cleaner that the likes of RCBS and Hornady sell, without the additional markup because it was made by a gun company.

It holds 50 fullbore centrefire cases standing upright with ease, so you should easily be able to fit 100 .44 magnum cases in it no problem. Dropping cases into the ultrasonic cleaner causes bubbles to form, which is limits the efficacy of the ultrasonic clean. This particular model features a de-gas mode which pulses the ultrasonics and causes the bubbles to disappear before you run the ultrasonic cleaning cycle. Very handy!

The 8050 will be plenty, I have a particular way of cleaning cases in a UC which involves putting them in a coffee pot and suspending it so that nothing touches the bottom of the cleaner.
This makes it all much more efficient.
