Swiss rifle model 1911, rifle vs carbine?

Thinking of adding a model 1911 Swiss rifle to the stable alongside my K31, which is rapidly becoming my favourite. Just wondered if anyone has any experience with both the long and short rifles? I like standard military rifles but on the other hand carbines are just fun aren't they!

the K11 is K31 sized but has a shorter barrrel due to the length of the action, personally if I was buying a rifle to shoot alongside the K31 I would look at the G11, longer barrel and "something different" will shoot the same GP11 as the K31 (just don't get a M1889 by mistake, that won't fire GP11, well it will but only for a short time :p )

M1889 shoot well and can be purchased as sec 58/2.

I have a slot waiting so the sec 58/2 is not an issue, I did however get offered a beautiful 1889 a while ago for next to no money, I've kicked myself ever since but poverty prevented me buying what would have become a wall hanger when I have a list of active calibres to acquire!

My favourite Swiss rifle has to be the 96/11, the elegant curve of the half pistol grip fitting always pleases me.

As for shooting the longer sight radius really helps the shooter take advantage of the accuracy of these rifles and round.

If you have the K31 then you have a short rifle already so it would be nice to contrast it with one of the earlier long rifles, they are also less bullet finicky if you are hand loading for them.

At the end of the day you need examples of all the models.

Don't limit yourself with the either/or approach.

I like your thinking dromia, but I also need a no4, and a P14, and an x, and a y, and a z. Just trying to be realistic and sort slots out ahead of time so I can then be opportunistic and take advantage of what's out there before prices become silly.

In the days when I was serious collector my wife would say to me "you can't have everything", to which I would reply "no, but I can try".
