6.5 Creedmoor safety catch spring

Hi my RPR in 6.5 creedmoor , safety was stuck in the off position i took the lower Receiver off and cleaned the area and the spring as well as the catch, safety work a couple of times then stuck again. Anyone else having this problem and do i need the spring it seems surplus to requirements. Any help much appreciated .

I have just watched Ruger Tech Tips and no mention of a spring ?? When stripping down the rifle, im beginning to think that spring was an after thought on Rugers part.??!

Ruger are sending a stock mount bottom. To Viking to fit to my RPR hopefully it will fix the problem, just shows if you don't complain you don't get , just got to wait till it arrives
