Using aluminium gas checks

With the high cost of copper gas checks I have been using aluminium ones for a couple of years and can recommend them, does anyone else have any experience of using them?

Have done, they are all right but tend to fail sooner than copper at the higher velocities, depending on the aluminium source fouling can be a problem also.

I now tend to feed my check maker only copper I can get better quality control that way, aluminium sheet seems to be more variable.

Rather late in responding I'm afraid but the people who make ally gas checks recommend a velocity about 1600 - 1700 fps.

Again depends on the type/source/quality of the aluminium.
