I've come to the end of my last pot of Hodgdon H4350 and I cant find anymore stocks of it due to the REACH restrictions coming in.
Does anyone know of any good alternatives that are Reach compliant? I'm loading for 6.5 Creedmoor with 139 grain Scenars.
Cheers
Brian.

If you want to stick with extruded powders, then Vihtavuori is worth looking at as their powders are REACH compliant.

http://www.vihtavuori.com/en/reloading- ... dmoor.html

For the 139gr Scenar's there is load data given for the following powders:
N150
N540
N550
N160

The N1xx series of powders are standard, single based powders.
The N5xx series of powders are single based powders, with the addition of Nitroglycerine to give the extra energy content.

Currently using N550 as that's what I had in stock, but just picked up some N150 to give barrel an easier life.

RS62 is also worth a look.

IMR-4451, RS60 (but a hot burner), RS62, Lovex SO65 and SO70, Viht N150 and N550 (latter 'hot' burning), Ramshot Big Game and Hunter. N140 and RS50 can also give good results especially with 120-130gn bullets but even with 140s.

The Americans (who still have huge supply problems with H4350 and where the popularity of the 6.5 Creedmoor won't have helped) are increasingly adopting IMR-4451 as an alternative and Alliant Re16 (an excellent propellant from Sweden but it's not imported here). To 4451 I'd add RS62 as my top recommendations, but the former is expensive and the latter has long kernels - OK for electronic dispensers, but not great for those still using traditional mechanical powder measures.

I recently watched a guy run his new Tikka Tac 6.5 Creed in using RS50 - really surprised at the group sizes - 5 shots per group, each group had all holes touching to form a tidy single hole.
In his own words "I threw these together just to bed the barrel and fire form the cases".
Might be worth a try?

I tried N150 in my 6.5x47 with 139gr scenars to vihts max load and they shot superbly but slow.off the top of my head 2650fps.i didn't follow up the development but I may do when my h4350 is gone.
