Depends on the club/range.

Mine requires name and address of the guest and which member they're a guest of to be written down on arrival.

Best to speak with the secretary of the club concerned, they will advise on the process they use.

As above, if they're coming to shoot one of my clubs requires a section 21 declaration to be completed at least 1 week beforehand so we can inform our FLO,

Very similar to my clubs, their name address DoB, place of birth and previous address if they have been there less than 5 yrs goes off to the FLO for clearance, then they are invited down (if cleared).

Yes, normally within 48 hours of event

Found it...
The club does not have more than twelve (12) guest days a year. Guest members must be either members of a recognised outside organisation or people who are known personally to at least one full member of that club.
•Guests must be supervised on a one to one basis at all times when handling firearms and ammunition by either a full club member or someone who is a coach with a qualification recognised by the UK or National Sports Council. The club secretary must notify each guest day to the Police Firearms Licensing Department of the area in which the guest day is to take place, at least 48 hours in advance.

If they want to join perhaps they can go along as new/prospective members and not guests. All depends upon the Club rules etc., and if it is a Miniature Rifle Club anyone can come along on MR night.
