New addition to the stable.

Been talking with a mate about buying a new Uberti. Unfortunately, the gun fund took a little hammering this week with a new addition to the Marlin stable!
A 1903 manufactured 1894 Saddle Ring Carbine in .38-40! There's a period Lyman tang sight, but the slot blank is definitely modern. The bore is a little dark and patchy with a couple of pits half way down. Initial gentle hand loads of a 180gn cast bullet and 6.5gns of Unique gave a lovely group at only 25yds, but bullets went clean through the target, which is always a worry with a common feature of original Marlins being over bored. More of a risk with the .38-40 given it was originally a heeled bullet!
I like it.
