Couple of chaps next to us this morning on 300yrds Century using the new electronic targets, one with a nice scoped Mosin, and the other guy inducing much straight-pull envy from me with a lovely Garrand.......
until, the guy with the Mosin put it away and brings out a Stg.44, and I thought "He's being hopeful to get that .22RF at 300yrds"
I was scoring for someone so didn't see him load it, but soon heard the very un-rimfire sound it made - oh my!
It was only one of those straight-pull Sport Systeme Dittrich Stg.44's in pukka 7.92x33 Kurz - first one I've ever seen close up - serious envy time

It was me that you asked about how to use the electronic machine at the start!
Shame we got a bit busy, as I wanted to come over again and have a closer look at that Stg.44 and your Garrand which looked a lovely one.

Does sound very nice - both Garand and Stg! I was firing our clubs M14 straight pull on Saturday and I love that!

I've shot an original Stg44 (not mine) back when we could own such things. It was a joy to shoot little recoil when compared with an AK and we were using 1944 dated steel case ammo.

Nice. Very, very nice.
I've shot a .22 version, and that was quite fun. The centre fire version must be a joy.
