Been looking at an Enfield Enforcer today.
All matching numbers, correct 4-10 Pecar scope, Harris bi-pod, excellent rifling, spare magazine, same owner for very long time - what would be an average price. Seem to vary quite a bit on the internet.

Depends what they want for it and whether you are prepared to pay it.

I was talking to someone last night who purchased one from an RAF shooting club for sub GBP500 in superb condition, having said that closer to twice that seems the norm these days.

Wow, would have said that was a bargain! Even twice that would be a bargain - I've seen them online from £1800 to £3250.

The market price for these does seem to be on an upward curve, so if you have to buy for top dollar today it will seem good value in the future.

Indeed, if I was offered a superb/mint condition Enforcer for a only a grand, I'd be biting their hand off............ :o

Most expensive one I've very recently seen was £3995.....and it wasn't for sale for long.

My very first fullbore rifle as I recall.

I learned to shoot fullbore with a club Enfield Envoy, they seem to be the bargain at the moment and can be had for less than half what the Enforcers seem to fetch these days.

If it came from an RAF shooting club I am 99.99% certain that it was not an Enfield Enforcer, RAF shooting clubs used the similar L39A1.

The Enfield Enforcer is very similar to the L39A1 but fitted with a Monte Carlo stock, it was made for Police use only. Those sold to Police forces came in different spec levels and some Counties didn't even buy the Pecar scope associated with the rifle. Some barely had any rounds put down them and spent their lives sitting in a Police armoury gathering dust. Unfortunately when Police services started to retire them some were cut up.

There is a small group of enthusiast collectors prepared to stump up the money when they rarely come up, not many were made and they are pretty much all accounted for as destroyed or in private collections. There maybe a few more that were off books so to say for "Special customers" but the likelihood of getting one via an RAF shooting club is virtually nil!

Sadly this is an area where many get caught out, as well as ex military shooting club examples there are also Enfield Envoys for the civilian market, L42A1 sniper rifles (also a bit rare) plus lots of "Armourer specials" based off No.4 actions. Many a less scrupulous person will call them "Enforcers" or "Enforcer like" to draw in the unwary!

Not to say there are not some good examples of these non-Enforcer rifles out there that can shoot very well (even the Armourer specials) but to be a real Enfield Enforcer needs provenance and matched serial numbers:

I had a superb all matching one with provenance.
Sold it three years ago for 1600.
Should have kept it!
