Finaly, few weeks after left knee ACL reconstruction,I was able to pop in to Bisley. Was very quiet yesterday and wather was pretty good. So,I tested my AK after Gods know how many mods-and before next ones...
This is my Arsenal with plenty of real milspec stuff added on....and crappy scope but it is "rifle in transition "...
As for shooting-only factory ammo tested and I was very disappointed to find out that last batch of Barnaul was waaaay below exceptional-hard to stay in 6" group. For the change-some last year leftovers did les then 3".So from now I decided to hand load and get less frustrated in whole process....
Prices are outrageous at Bisley now....

Thnx RDC
DS-it was quiet day,a gap in competition shooting.Check availability on line first, always
Rifle is not to everybody taste-I can understand this, pain job is just 5min bodge with leftovers from undercoat spray
But this is a test bed for my ideas, two more projects in the pipe-two different calibres. So far-it works but is painstakingly slow proces...

I agree with Triffid! I did look closely, but couldn't spot the walnut.

I love those short "AK-Su'ish"

Is that a Beryl side folding stock ? Home-made check rest ?
BTW , Welcome to Barnaul ammo ... I use their 223 in my froggy M4 but only for short distances usually 30/50 and big max 100 for the reasons you experienced .

Froggy, mon ami-top AK has Beryl's top rail and collapsible stock,yes....and some real carbon fibre too :) "the wooden rifle"-for now,was Saiga .223 but it will go back to own roots,AK74-with new barrel in 5.45x39.Do to a technical difficulties with my RFD lathe project is on hold. But not for long

Wnere you getting 5.45x39 ammo from?, I was looking to get a 5.54 Saiga brought in but the problem was finding a repeatable source of ammo.
