Has anyone tried this stuff? good, bad, indifferent?

I'm thinking of buying a couple of hundred to try as I'm presuming its likely to be the same as any other "standard" ammo just not branded.

Thanks Gazza. It's not bad that for plinking.

I used to use it quite a bit when I first started out (well, first started with my own certificate) and if you peel the 'Value' label off it is quite often 'match' ammo underneath?! I don't know if end of batch stuff or what.

I've found there are significant differences in performance between types of rounds. Even though I've only been shooting for two years I can easily tell the difference between Eley Club and Eley Match for example. I can't really see the point in cheap plinking ammunition if it doesn't go where you are aiming (unless you just want to make noise!!)

I suppose it depends on the level of accuracy you require for the type of shooting that you do.

If you're aiming for x's on 10 spot cards then no, you won't want to compromise.

If you're shooting practical and your aiming mark is 3-4 MOA then lower tolerance ammunition will suffice.

Not sure if they are in stock Dromia, I'll call in tomorrow and quiz them.
To say they are "value" they are not particularly cheap unless they are match grade or made to a consistent standard.
Remington thunderbolts and such like they sell are only 4.50 per 100 so if they are proper "value" eg: sh!te I would have expected them to be cheaper.
I will report after grilling the staff tomorrow :good:

They haven't had any Value stuff in for years, it has been a while since I last enquired so they may have restocked but I doubt it.

The story was that they had bought a job lot of Eley target ammunition that had failed quality control and slapped a Value label over the original Eley. Eley then upgraded their machinery and the QC was much better and the source dried up, I suspect that this just a one off buy and when it was gone it was gone and similar opportunity hasn't arisen, unless they have recently come acoss a source, when firing you could see why the ammunition had failed QC, good to excellent grouping with wild fliers. It was fine stuff if you weren't interested in small groups or high scores. A lot had the nippled Eley bullet so could have been Tenex or Match.
