Aftermarket firing pin and springs - any good?

One of the few parts of my rifle which still retains the original parts is the firing pin and spring.
Several companies offer replacement parts, sexy in colour and fancy in materials, that claim faster lock times, better consistency and of course improved accuracy.
Does anyone have personal experience of improved performance once fitting an after market pin?
I suspect that they are only worth while if and once the original stops working,
