Lantac 5.56/ 223 muzzle thread size for fitting a moderator

Following on from post about what moderator to purchase I went to our local gunshop to have a look at them and a discussion. I thought the thread might be 1/2 unf but upon trying that adaptor and various others we couldn't find one that fitted.

Does anyone with a lantac 223 straightpull know what the thread is? The current muzzle 'device' I had as standard from Lantac was an a2 flashhider which when I googled the thread was 1/2 unf but I don't know whether Lantac use a different thread or their own design etc. Any help would be appreciated!

1/2" x 28 UNEF.
That's standard for any AR.

Thanks Bam Bam. Is that quite a fine thread?

Yes, it's 28 threads per inch, hence 1/2" x 28 TPI UNEF. UK most common 1/2" x 20 is only 20 threads per inch(tpi).

In a ½" UN thread, 13tpi is coarse (UNC), 20tpi is fine (UNF) and 28 is extra fine (UNEF).
