I'm looking to neck size my 6.5 creedmoor ,been look for die, have just seen a Hornady neck sizing 6.5 ( .264 ) die , does anyone know for definite if this will be ok for my 6.5 creedmoor

I dont think so. I think the creedmore is based on the modified .308 case not the 6.5x55 . I might be wrong as I have no experience of the caliber. How experienced are you at hand loading. Most of my neck sizing is done with L.E.Wilson bushing dies using a arbor press or L.E.Wilson type dies I make my self. Hornady or Reding probably do 6.5 creedmore dies. Have a look on spud reloading 1967 web site if any one has them it will be him.

For the calibers that I neck size for I use Reding body dies along with there competition shell holders to control shoulder set back. I then use a L.E.Wilson neck bushing die to give me my chosen neck tension. I then seat the bullet using a L.E.Wilson micrometer seating die. I also have Reding and Hornady micrometer seaters in most of the calibers I re load for.

I dont have any experience of the caliber and checking the price of components dies etc I doubt I ever will.
I will stick with .308 and 6.5x55. Not having access to a range any longer than 500 yards makes it all a bit pointless.

6.5 Creedmoor components and dies are like most other calibres, there's cheap and expensive versions. Lee dies work very well and cost the same as other Lee dies, cases can be fire formed from cheap 22-250 brass. Nothing special about the powders, bullets or primers either. In fact my 6.5 Creedmoor costs me slightly less to reload then my 308 as the bullets are cheaper and it uses less powder :)

Nothing wrong with shooting it at "shorter" distances, just because it's capable past 1600yds doesn't mean it shouldn't be shot at anything less.

Thanks again ; a full set of Lee dies are about £ 50 with the neck sizing die included I have a two piece foster dies set , full and seater , to buy stand alone neck dies by other makers are at least £140 ??looks like selling the foster and using Lee..please explain more about fire forming from 22-250.

Very simple,

1, Run the 22-250 case through your 6.5C FLS die to open the neck (don't forget to lube it!)
2, Load with a minimum load
3, Fire, this expands the normally tapered 22-250 case to a straight wall and pushes the shoulders to the correct angle.
4, Job done

Just size and load as normal from then on. I wouldn't bother neck sizing, there's no real advantage, just set your FLS die to give you minimum head space, that way you work the brass less.
