Home made case lube

I've just made a batch of lanolin case lube from youtube info and I'm suitably impressed :good:
900ml of isopropyl alcohol and 100gm of pure lanolin to make just over a litre of lube. Both items from evilbay at a grand total of around 11 quid.
Should keep me going for a long time.

Great stuff!

Be sure to let it evaporate for 15 or 20 mins before use; until then, it isn't a lube (it's more of a case-sticker!).

I use 3 lots of 10 good (fine) sprays, rolling the cases around and mixing by hand after each group of 10 squirts, in a tray of 500 cases.

..

I did the same and made a batch about 8 months ago, haven't used anything else since, I just bung all the brass in a washing up bowl, spray it and shake them around and let them dry.

Been using it for the past couple of years and had no problems except as said above if you don't let it evaporate first you can end up with a stuck case so I'm told  lol

If you look on eBay the IPA is available in spray bottles to start with which can save an extra purchase

I tip I found out is to put the spray bottle it in hot water to help the lanolin mix properly prior to using it.

I found that too - I put the lanolin in a cup of hot water for 15 minutes before mixing in 90ml of isopropyl to 10ml of lanolin, then shake vigorously!
First batch I made I never pre-warmed the lanolin and stood there shaking the mix bottle for ages - wife saw me from the back and wondered what the h#ll I was doing.
Also, ensure the spray bottle you use can handle isopropyl, I use an old bike degrease bottle now, the first bottle I used was from pound land and the alchahol dissolved the pump.
