Do any of you have any experience of these .223 conversions for Lee Enfields ?

We're contemplating remedying a deficiency in the Sett Armoury (we have no .223) and wondered what a suitable rifle might be . The safe bet is a Brno or CZ in .223, but we like unusual stuff...

Not common, but worth a look. I've got the MVP LC in .308, and the club has a LR in .223.
Both work well and are very accurate.

I have the MVP in 223 and its more accurate than I could have imagined for the money.
1 in 9 twist and it will stabilise 77gn bullets out to 900 yds.

A mate has one of these a Armalon AL42 based on a No4 action, If I could afford the price, one would be in the cabinet. It shoots like a dream.

I imagine any heavy soft tip .224 bullet would be good on badger... it's all about shot placement though...

No more suggestions? We're wondering if any of 'em straight pull AR cloney things are any good.

They are but they're not cheap. Second hand perhaps under a bag of sand but most are more like £1600 odd new. My lantac does .75moa at 100 mards (10 shot string, off rest in a tunnel) so they're as accurate as the barrel and build if you handload.
Very adaptable rifles. I put the precision lantac lower with fancy trigger and heavy stock on my .22 upper for accuracy sometimes.

To further add with the safe bet, my CZ Varmint in .223 has a 1:9" twist barrel which shoots 52gr to 69gr bullets with excellent accuracy.
What purpose do you have in mind? For varmint purposes you may as well stick with standard off the shelf rifles with a 1:12" twist since you'll be shooting light varmint bullets, but if you're going for target shooting then you'll want a rifle which has a tighter twist to let you shoot the "big chikkins". A 1:9" twist will let you shoot 69gr bullets no problem, but you'll want a 1:8" or a 1:7" twist for the 77gr+ projectiles.
(PS, for the purists, it's the length of the bullet that affects the stability with regards to twist, not mass. However, in most cases as the bullet length increases so does the mass).

I have a SGC ar15. built in 2002.
I am the third owner.
The first owner did not use it a lot as he worked offshore and the second owner did not use it too much either.
it still functions perfect and shoots under 1/2 moa if i do my bit!
For my foxing i have savage accu stalker. bought new last year, an excellent rifle.
like a lot of savage owners , i am a fan of them.
