looks like my P9S journey might be rather short lived

when shooting it yday, I was getting the slide locking partially close after loading a new round. just pulling the slide wasn't releasing itm but found a tiny pull back and lean to the left worked.

on stripping it I found this...



looks like the roller is coming too far out and staying locked into the barrel extension

OH the fun you're going to have getting that replaced/repaired(!)

yeah, not like you can just tig on some material and re-stake it.

Bugger! That's a worn bolt head... Has the roller been scored/flattened as well?

Probably immaterial actually. First call, see if one of the NI or IoM members can recommend a good old fashioned pistol smith. You want someone whose been around a while, it's surprising the parts they have in drawers. On top of which, they'll also have the contacts.

Your massive problem is going to be getting the said part to you. Your going to need a variation for it. Then your going to need someone who can import it....

A quick trawl has shown a couple of complete bolt heads for sale in the US. Pointless for you, but they run at $350 plus! There are a few places in Europe that break guns a la Numrich, and you really could do with a German firm as they still do live their HKs! Drop this one an email;

Worst case scenario is that it's dead. You may be able to spend a wee bit and have it deactivated in order to recoup some of your costs. I can't imagine you paid the £335 i paid for mine in 1990....

Well I paid £500 for the gun but looking at pics the bolt head was already damaged but. A. I didn't know. B. It's want totally missing so still retained the roller.

I do know a couple of sec 5 dealers. So it is possible if I can find and get one imported that it could get is easy to the tunnel for it to be replaced. If I can get it to the range through sec 5 dealers, would I still need a variation?

Not good, i wonder how reliable the roller lock system is in handguns compared to the browning short recoil system. I know it was reliable the MG 42 G3 rifle etc.
