Time for some pistol cheesecake shots?

Picked up two handguns recently.
The Ruger New Model flat top Blackhawk is in .44 special, a favorite chambering for me. I bought this one via an auction and got a pretty smokin' deal on it. It is a great shooter although the grips are too skinny for me. I will add some aftermarket wood grips to give a bit more purchase to hang onto it. I have a super Blackhawk in .44 magnum that I only shoot .44 specials from and I find that the flat top is a bit more comfortable to shoot since it is a bit lighter.
the .44 special
The .44 magnum super Blackhawk
Next up is a S&W 559 9mm. These are pretty rare as only several thousand 2nd generation pistols were made before switching to the much greater production run 3rd generation. This is a heavy piece of iron - I wouldn't want to be a cop carrying one in a holster all day long but for range shooting it is perfect. Great trigger pull and very accurate.
I've told the wife I'm done buying firearms but I do have my eye on a CZ SxS 20 ga with 26" barrels and a straight stock. Just the thing for doves!

Oh man.....
I had a 539 Smith they was my favourite pistol for a long time. The "5" series steel frame 2nd generation were a lot more rare that the "4" series alloy on top of the 2nd being the least run of the Smith generations.
But sorry rufrdr, that needs to go back to the factory to have the slide reblued....

No, I suspect the original was lost and the previous owner found this one to thread in. I'm going to see if I can locate the correct one.

Only Ruger I ever owned was the .30M1 Blackhawk.
Not too bad, but prone to being a touch noisy
Quite fancy some of the 45 Colt models
