Forming 22-250 from .308 Palma

Has anyone tried forming or come across 22-250 brass from the .308 Palma (Small Primer) brass? I have never experienced primer pocket issues with my 22-250 however I am curious to hear if anyone has tried it.

I know someone who forms 6XC from 308 brass.

I form 22-250 into 6.5 Creedmoor, I've also formed it from 243 and 308 and they both needed neck turning so I would think that 308 to 22-250 would be the same.

What is the advantage of a small primer pocket over a conventional one.

I would regard the Palma brass as a poor choice, it is very thick in the neck & shoulder wall to start with and this would be exacerbated by forming down to 22-250.
If you can get it, Remington 308 UBR brass would be ideal, it is small primer and explicitly designed for forming down, having a thin case wall.

More 'meat' around the primer-pocket. Takes pressure so much better - without slackening the primer-pocket.
A lot of the FTR guys who are pushing the 308 to previously unknown velocities were only getting two or three reloads out of a case. Now, with the small-primer brass probably 10 reloads with annealing.

Roger, the .308Win and 22-250Rem case head is the same (CIP) at 12,01mm so no issues with using Palma brass however I would expect to have to neck turn as the case thickness would increase slightly. Not an issue though as I usually do it on a lathe with a sacrificial mandrel these days.
I should have some spare Palma brass so it will be interesting to see if there are any tangible advantages over standard 22-250 brass.
