Anybody know where i can get on behalf of a club member some - Austo-Hungarian Mannlicher Steyr 8x56R (dia 0.330) - NB not the 8mm Mauser(0.323) bullets? or even live ammo - anyone got any?

Am in Germany all next week any recommendations where i could get bullets but not live ammo ;-)

Hi, Kranks are the importers for Privi, doesn't look like they have any in at the moment but they do the military 208 grain FMJ
http://www.henrykrank.com/index.php?mai ... ts_id=2293

they didn't want to import the bullets when I asked them, I did ask for 1000 but that wasn't worth their while.

My .318" Nitro express also uses .330" bullets so what I do now is use a custom Lee sizer die in .330" followed by a one in .329" on Lapua .338" bullets. You could do it in one stage but it requires quite an effort so it's just easier in two.

I use the .329" sizer as the final sizer after reading that when sizing jacketed bullets down allow for .001" "spring back" of the jacket.

Lapua do a 250gn .338" but it's a bit heavy compared to the 208 grain military so if you do give it a go download accordingly.

Do you find it ok sizing down 8 thou in one go as I do a different cal but did that much in two stages, how much effort do you have to put in.

Apologies for my typo, first stage takes them down .332" a 6 thou reduction. I find this fine provided you use Lee case resizing lubricant.

I did once try Imperial sizing wax and barely got the bullet out. With the Lee lube it's pretty effortless.

I did fine the Lapua bullets a bit easier than the Sierra's but they are almost double the price of the Lapua so for the time being I'll stick to Lapua.
