just loading up some LOS 9mm 124gr flat points. LOS don't seem to give any load data, so as I was usingRamshot true blue, they list Berry RN & NBFP and Rainer RN & HP all in 124gr. they list weights starting at 4.8 up to max of 6gr. with COL from 1.160 down to 1.060
so, I want to use a starting load of 5gr. started to load up some dummys at a length of 1.110"
dropping them into the chamber of my SGC rifle, they stick and will not spin. I have to load them to a length of 1.085" for them to be free to spin.
am I still safe using a starting load of 5gr true blue with this length?

the bullet is 0.556 long
so there is about 0.220 inside the case

I reckon you'll be fine. The FP takes a little away from the OAL if you see what I mean. I used to run little stubby 122gn TCs at 1.060" in my Hi-Power.
BTW, I found Red Dot to be the powder for 9mm, regardless of bullet....

i thought I would be, but I thought I had better check. It's just annoying most american data seems to be for hollow points, which I'd expect weight for weight must have a longer body still
I'll keep that in mind on my next powder order, I picked true blue as a lot of folk seem to love it, and can be used for 45acp. plus seems to meter beautifully

Why not give yourself the assurance and start at 4.8gr? Use a chrono to see if there's any issue with velocity.

the TC's, were they lead? if so, what grain count would you use for red dot? as I have some of these bullets...
do you think it'd be worth loading some of the 125gr FP's with any other weight of true blue?
I will try to chrono tomorrow, my magnetospeed v3 should be able to attach to the handgun ok as i have the RIS attachment.
I'm only using my SGC chamber as a guide, not to shoot them through (as we all know you can't do that), I'd be dropping them into the XdM if i was allowed to have the barrel at home
