Wot no shooting?
Finding that I have been given the afternoon off from my half term parenting duties I gave the range office a call to see if I could have a 100 or 200 yard target on Short Siberia,
Unfortunately not, range maintenance in progress!
Any Chance of a Short distance on Century? - No same there!
Could get a point on Stickledown, but as I am wanting to do some load development that is not going to help.
I suppose the Phoenix took plaid it's part but I remember this from years gone past, on the run up to the Imperial it gets increasingly difficult to get on the ranges.

Yes, but I don't want to do 1000 yards, I need to confirm my zero etc and want to test some loads at short distance - not zero range!

Just had a look at the plots and they are doing butt maintenance on both century and short siberia. Sorry, can't help.

Hi .
I have never booked a lane at Bisley before , if say four of us wanted to shoot say 2 in the butts and 2 on point for a morning , what would it cost please . I believe I can use the club NRA affiliation number is that correct .

Not wishing to be TOO critical, but is that not a tad silly. Missed income and all that.HeatherW762 wrote:Just had a look at the plots and they are doing butt maintenance on both century and short siberia. Sorry, can't help.

Could they have not been done sequentially?
Just a thought.

Short Siberia is getting a lot more lead in it nowadays as a result of CNC using it so much so it may well be that it has to be done more often. Century has to be done twice a year, at least, as well. So trying to get Brian on site with his team is quite a logistical exercise. If he gets a window of opportunity, we take it!dodgyrog wrote:Not wishing to be TOO critical, but is that not a tad silly. Range hire prices can be viewed here - http://www.nsc-bisley.co.uk/common/asp/ ... p?site=NSCDave 101 wrote:Hi .

Rules are that it has to be an official club day for club members to shoot. So it has to be booked by the secretary & advertised to the whole club (an email circular is fine). If only the four of you turn up, that's fine. You have to sign in, show club membership card and your own certification cards and pay before you go to the range but otherwise - on you go.
I'm assuming by your message that you aren't all individual members of the NRA?

Having walked the butts every evening this week, the major works were / are being done sequentially. Century finished on Wednesday (digger parked overnight by the 300m targets), and yesterday it was parked atop the Siberia stop butt - work still in progress. The two safety traces don't interact till beyond the stop butts, so not sure what work took both out at the same time. I will ask.
