Which action is best for F Class or F/TR?

Hi All
I'm think of buying an F class or an F/TR. Does it matter if I go for Nesika or Barnard? Or are there any other options?
I'm think of getting a Bartlein barrel. Not sure about the colour, but I like yellow.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

I have an F/TR with a Nesika action. Also on a Bartlein barrel and Jewel trigger.
I can only comment on my combination and it shoots very well. Gave me 3rd in FTR long range in the recent Phoenix at Bisley.

Almost any centre fire action could be used but, you will be swinging a long heavy barrel off it so it makes sense to go for a solid-bottom action - or just use a barrel-block stock and leave the action free-floating. With a barrel-block the action is totally unstressed by the weight of the barrel so a Remmy would work as good as a Barnard.
But, if you want an action like the Barnard or Nesika then Consider the Stolle F Class action - comes with a built-in scope rail with 20MOA taper and has a large flat bedding area. It is about a pound lighter than the Barnard. With an FTR build, that means a heavier barrel can be used.

I'm going for a John Carr action at the moment, but had my heart set on a Barnard action for a long time. Barnard actions are excellent, but don't look to pretty if that's what you care about.
Have a look at John Carr actions, British made and nice action.

If you go for Barnard, opt for the smaller diameter and lighter 'S' action. The heavier 'P' is a superb action, much favoured in F-Open and Target / Match Rifle, but is too heavy to be optimal for FTR and will see a compensating saving required in the barrel weight.
Another very good 'Remington footprint' single-shot non-ejector action is the Stolle Atlas. Somewhat cheaper than the Nesika, Barnard S and Stolle actions and often very effective is the Savage 12 PTA single shot 3-screw action. It comes with the match version of the Savage AccuTrigger which is a bit agricultural and some people never get on with it.

+1 for the Savage..........a no-brainer at the price.
