Just goes to confirm why shots without confirmed backstops are reckless

Those rounds were really tumbling - they went through the wood sideways. That's still some very impressive shooting, though! clapclap

I see their point they made at the end about the round that keyholes secondly having been yaw'd by the wind rather than tumbled through. Not sure they'd have had that much accuracy to get on at 2000 if they were tumbling...Les wrote:Those rounds were really tumbling - they went through the wood sideways. Sennybridge F Range in Breacon off the top of my head. Furthest falling target is over 2500yds there, at those kinds of ranges .308 is in effect bombing the target. Do it with some Tracer and it is amusing and depressing in equal measures! All the energy is used up and the bullet is at the mercy of wind and the Coriolis effect.RobB wrote:Anywhere in the uk you can try that? Like to give it a go :)

It is certainly interesting and you do get to learn much about your rifle, even funnier watching the .50 cal guys shooting Tracer at that range. The trajectory is significantly flatter.
