Oomans:
Let us assume:
1. We have a fine bangstick with interchangeabubble calibre barrels / bolts, allowing owt up to 0.5" calibre.
2. We knows a gunsmith of outstanding skill who can make us almost owt we wants in terms of barrels
This being assumed, what calibre ought we consider for our next barrel, and why ? To add context, we shoot mainly at 300 mards, sometimes at 25 mards and occasionally at 600 mards. We can also access Bisley and Diggle from time to time for greater distances. Our existing barrels for this rifle are .308 and .243 inches.

220 Swift or 9mm Rascal - Why? Same bolt face as the 308/.243 and why not...hell, I know where there's a 257 AI barrel that you can have!

Something quirky - 460 Weatherby Magnum. Oh and a new shoulder after you've been shooting with it

6mmBR or 6.5x47Lapua would be good choices. Otherwise go for a 22 eargensplitter loudenboomer. That'll mottle your fur a little.
