Went to Bisely today for the first time and what a wonderful place it is!!! Must admit i was like a child in a sweet shop with all the various old rifles though.
I stocked up on 7.92,22LR and also 357 booties. Not sure if it was Dodgyrog on here who i got them off,but i bought 1000 so should keep me going for a while eitherway. Also got a tub of powder and primers too.
Had a good look round the various stalls and it reminded me of a bank holiday market-with guns!

Phoenix is always worth a visit. Yesterday was the first time where we actually saw the traders pack up, we got there that late. Ovenpaa spent the entire day shooting competitions.
We picked up some stuff we had ordered from Brian Fox, always a pleasure to deal with him.
He told us about the new action he is selling. Very interesting. If you are after a new action it is worth a look.

Said hi to Gavin from MidwayUK (Ovenpaa has known him for years.) Said hi to Chris from C&G. He has a new puppy! Ever so cute. Met SimG outside and it was a pleasure saying hi to him. Spotted Wayne from North West Custom Parts with his lovely yellow Labrador. Bumped into Artiglio again (we met him at the 600m point earlier on). Then Dromia was suddenly standing behind me as I was looking for him. :P
All 3 of us went to say hello to Dromia and his lovely wife. It really was a pleasure meeting them both.

It was a fantastic day with lots of fresh air and hauling things around and meeting people and and and...I was soooo tired when we drove home. Rosy cheeks and all. It was food in the microwave and then to bed. Crikey I ache today!

Looking forward to next year:)

We picked up some brass and bags from Brian Fox and that was it for us, we didn’t get to the stalls until gone 17:30 and only had a fleeting look around, a brief chat with Gav on the Midway stand, bumped into Sim G which was good, saw Artiglio again with DTA Europe with his rather nice rifles and then sat down for a chat with Adam and his wife.

In that respect a cheap day however I am fairly certain I could have picked up a rifle for what my 300 SAUM brass cost me...

A frustrating experience for me - I didn't have much time between other commitments but I just about had time to get to Bisley, tour the stands, buy what I needed and get away again. Unfortunately I went to the drawer where the FAC lives and there it wasn't! Wasted two hours hunting for it to no avail so ended up at the Phoenix with less than an hour and half to see everything and no FAC. Total purchases therefore were nowt. I did however bump into Christel and managed to say Hi, plus a couple of shooting friends from elsewere so not a wasted afternoon. Definately need to be better organised next year!

After a day at Southend airshow in 28mph winds yesterday, we didn't want too early a start. Quick wash in the garage and hair wash over the kitchen sink (no bathroom as in the middle of a new one going in), left at 07:30.
First stop C&G to see Chris, Isabel and AK and Neil.
Breakfast, about the only time the bacon and sausage rolls are nice instead of just something to eat. ;)
Pottered about looking at some overpriced bits and pieces and stuff you just wish you could have regardless of cost. Bought primers from Fred.
Usual nods and smiles at people you see year in year out and still don't know by name.
Found Dromia and his wife. Nice to meet them.
After a puchase of an original Mauser bayonet we were walking back to C&G when a chaps voice said from behind me, "Hello I don't know you but I recognised the shirt and the forum". It was Dave 101 and his family. Another member to add to those met. Soon after I spotted another hoodie wearer, Dangermouse. Quick hello and a chat before he went to find out about his broken shotgun. :(
Went to pick up some Sierra Matchking heads from HPS. Then a quick trip to Sainsbury as after scraping together our last bit of change to buy Bnz a coffee we saw a sling swivel he wanted but didn't have anything left to buy it with.
Finally said our goodbyes, drove about 100 yards, saw the ice cream van so stopped. Got home at 14:00.

Then that was you! I was the shaven headed chap who harassed you when you were still setting up and who's friend had a 1000 booties too.We struggled to carry the whole lot so made a beeline for the car.Regarding lead-I had the unenviable task along with a few others of sifting the bullet trap last time so will do my best.

Bought some ammo from C&G then looked on amazed as some other bloke objected to Chris wanting to photocopy his FAC with a potential ammunition purchase.Never met Chris before, but had a chat and a laugh with him at this other blokes expense! Nice chap and a fantastic array of rifles!!!

I went to the icecream van too.

Can I just say I think that hoodies or whatever else you are wearing with the forum logo on is priceless at events like the Phoenix.

:D

I bought only ammo - it is difficult to get through such a competition weekend when your ticket allows you just enough rounds to get through it, so restocking during lunchtime. I think the idea to offer hot food and drinks directly next to Melville is really nice for these "major" events (even though it's just vegetarian it tasted really yummy).

Met christel and ovenpaa at Stickledown on Saturday afternoon - they invited me to join the forum.
