Just found this on C&G's website it said its a reproduction of a bell tower rifle but I'm curious to know if such a thing actually existed as a quick Google search didn't come up with anything. The rifle has been cut down to make it shorter than a standard lee Enfield.

It's a little known fact that ALL military units had a special batman or non-combatant soldier attached to the rear elements of the patrol.
This soldiers sole purpose, aside from fetching the silver service kit of tea & scones, promptly at 4pm daily - or passing up the field dressings if such were needed - was to carry the chopped down issue rifle that ALL units were issued in case they came across an unoccupied bell tower & fancied a bit of plinking from above.
This proved to be quite a novel form of entertainment for the troops - until such time as "the audience" shoved a whizz-bang or 88 through the tower roof & literally brought the house down

The C&G one MAY have been found in a bell tower...but WHEN?
My money would be well post-war = by which time NUMEROUS private firms all over the world had manufactured such chopped down rifles.

Looks like a Gibbs Rifle Co "Tanker" Carbine.

springfield is correct, the rifle Chris made (for me) is not sold as an actual tower rifle, but was inspired by a find of one about 2 years ago, we discussed on here at the time. Chris decided to make a shortened no4 which was sold on, and I asked for one in a smellie flavour, which he obliged me with.
