This caught my eye as it is both .410 and .22LR and comes from Baikal so you can probably club baby seals with is as well.

Has anyone come across other such combination guns? I do remember reading about a survival rifle chambered in both .410 and .22LR however it looked a bit harsh in my eyes.

I always liked the Chiappa Double Badger, but then I can't be trusted with my firearm buying decisions.

410 and 22LR seems like a decent combo for those mooching around areas that permit one to mooch with firearms. Also available in WMR for those who mooch in areas where the prey are slightly further away. Or larger.

The US M6 survival rifle, made by Ithaca and Springfield Armoury.

The nicest were probably the German combination guns, these "drillings" were issued to aircrew but would not have looked out of place on a Hemmingway Safari, came cased with all sorts of accessories.

The most useful to my mind were probably the Savage combination guns. Nearly has one in .22Hornet and 20 bore....

SimG - I have seen the occasional Luftwaffe Drilling being discussed and they certainly seem to hold their money to an eye watering level.

I am not sure if the M6 is available over here and although they look like handy little guns as does the Baikal I am not sure how useful they would be here in the UK.

Far too complicated, all you need is a .45 smoothbore musket, percussion or flint I would prefer a flint for reliability in the field. Load with shot, ball, shot and ball and it will do as well as a 22/410 combination.

If you must have two barrels then a M/L shotgun will do the job, nothing new in the shooting world.

A 22 hornet/20 bore could pique my interest though.

That looks very reminiscent of a Ferlach rifle from Austria. I had the good fortune of visiting a gun shop that specialised in multi-bore/multi-calibre rifles right in the middle of Ferlach just down the road from the Glock factory. The shop was run by a very aristocratic married couple but very friendly. The interesting thing was the rifles were sent to Manchester for the metal finish before final assembly. The engravings were something else. The price was a little more than I could afford (and the rest), the sad thing is that the shop is gone now but I think the rifles are still being made (crafted).
