Shooting glasses with ear Defenders

Hi all I'm looking for a pair of clear glasses suitable for use with ear muffs specifically with the Howard Leight ear defenders.

I do have a pair of custom molded inner ear defenders but when shooting indoors they are not the best and I find it loud so I'm sticking with ear muffs.

The question is I haven't found a pair of glasses that are comfortable to use with ear muffs.

The frames are to thick so the defenders don't work as well or they move when I turn my head. Just a pain in the back side. aaarggh

How do you lot get on with glasses and shooting and any recommendations as to what has worked for you lot?

Thanks Happy shooting

Are you looking at prescription glasses or just protective glasses??

I have worn glasses for the last 10 years and although I tend to wear molded ear plugs when shooting I've not noticed my glasses causing a problem when I do wear defenders but all my glasses have always had flattish arms

If it is prescription glasses your after then probably the optician that has a shop at bisley ( name eludes my at this moment ) may be the best person to have a disscusion with

I use smith optics aegis echo 2, excellent with my Howard leights, flat sides and very good lens quality with easy to change lenses, not too expensive either :good:

Ditto, but I also use a gel filled pad.

Joe

Clear protective glasses can be had which use an elasticated strap rather than solid arms . The strap lies flat against the side of the head and does not interfere with ear muffin seals. You may wish to look at these as an option.

I have some Zeiss prescription shooting glasses on order and should get them soon so will see what they are like with defenders on and let you know
I'm sure they are available with just plain poly carb lenses with different tints

I've gone with the photo chromatic ones so hopefully will be best compromise in all weather types

Have a look at the Crossbow Suppressors from ESS: http://www.tactical-kit.co.uk/crossbow- ... 0302-p.asp.

They have skinny arms that are designed to go under ear defenders. I use them with Howard Leights on the indoor range and with Sordins (gel pads) when shooting .308 outdoors. Very comfortable with both and easy to slip on/off whilst wearing the ear defenders.
