In many respects mad to collect such a collection outside the protection of an RFD / Section 1 - 5 etc as now many rare firearms will get chopped up melted down & lost to history. But demonstrates how many firearms can be obtained if you know where to look in GB.
....... wonder how many were live firing vs deact, imitation & air? Do police ever publish a detailed inventory of such raids?

It's a shame that some of those will get destroyed. Some interesting looking firearms... Especially that LAW!

I had an interesting debate with the police some years ago about the legalities of a LAW (and a number of other interesting items) it was touch and go at one stage whether I would keep my certificateAJSawyer wrote:It's a shame that some of those will get destroyed. Nowt wrong with a LAW as long as it has the de-act certificate...pe4king wrote:I had an interesting debate with the police some years ago about the legalities of a LAW (and a number of other interesting items) it was touch and go at one stage whether I would keep my certificateAJSawyer wrote:It's a shame that some of those will get destroyed. Never seen any breakdown but have seen loads of TV reports about the number of guns collected showing any load of rubbish. ISTR a FoI request for the breakdown was refused as the police in question did not keep such information.hitchphil wrote:http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-suffolk-35611810

The LAW tube is deactivated as soon as its fired in effect an empty case, and no more a threat than a length of drainpipesaddler wrote:Nowt wrong with a LAW as long as it has the de-act certificate...pe4king wrote:I had an interesting debate with the police some years ago about the legalities of a LAW (and a number of other interesting items) it was touch and go at one stage whether I would keep my certificateAJSawyer wrote:It's a shame that some of those will get destroyed. They've got to have paperwork though...milled cuts in the body & the like.....I'm familiar with the design (esp. after one of the DLSA ATO's almost dropped a few on my head from three floors up....normal for Didcot!!)
