Advice - AI AW + Hensoldt 10x42

Can anyone give me advice.
I am waiting on my AI AW 308 being granted on my FAC.
It has the one piece 45' forward angle mount (the one that is available from sporting services, and i think made especially for the PMII 5-25).
Ihave a Hensoldt 10x42 military scope that i want to put on until i save up and buy a PMII 4-16 or 5-25
Will the Hensoldt be ok in this one piece mount given the 45' angle ?
Will it zero at 100 yards or will it bottom out ?
I will be shooting from 100 to 500 with the odd occasion out to 1000, and i will not be entering any competitions for a while.
If the mount will be ok i will have to buy a set of reducers as the mount is for 34mm and the Hensoldt is 26mm tube.
Or should i just go out and buy a suitable mount for the Hensoldt ? ( what would u recommend ?)
Any advive is greatly appreciated or anyone selling a PMII at a reasonable price LOL
Thanks
Brian

45 minutes is a lot, too much in fact unless you want a long zero. I run a 16X PMII on a 28 minute rail on my 7.62x51 AI/AE and it just zeroes at 100m with two clicks to spare. The Hensoldt itself is a lovely 'scope and will certainly work well with the AI. My view is get some different rings, ideally a 20 or 28 minute rail.
Cheap PMII's... not an easy thing to come by.

I have to admit a 45moa rail is a little extreme, I would think you'd struggle getting any scope down to 100 yards
I have a 20moa rail on my .308 and I can get out to 1200 yards with my Sightron S3 10-50x60 which has only 50 MOA elevation on it, I think I'm about 4 MOA from the bottom of the range at 100 yards

From memory, the 45 moa is fine in the S&B 3x12 and the 5x25 ( i used this setup on a few riles) but not on the 4x16.
You need to find the total elevation travel of your scope and divide this by two then get a mount with slightly less incline than this half amount.

Personally I would go for some different rings for the hensoldt. The 45 moa sloped Ai mount was specifically designed for the 5-25 pm2 the height of the rings is slightly higher than the other models to allow for the deeper body of the scope. I had this problem when fitting a pm2 to my surgeon actioned rifle with it's integral 20 moa rail I had to use a 28 moa Ai scope mount with a recess milled in the body of the mount to get a 100yd zero and full range of adjustment on the elevation turret.

I have just written loads on here and ended it with this line "I would have a chat to Graeme at Sporting Services to see what he has "
then deleted it as all I really needed to say was just that, it should cost you about £170 in all, keep hold of your 45 moa mount if you are eventually going for a 5-25 PM11 other than that sell it to help fund the new one
Oh and welcome to club AW you will love it :)

Hi Brian, is your rifle with the AI dovetail or a picatinny rail?

Have you spoken to Graeme to see what he has ?.
Personally I would just go for a set of normal 26mm rings if you have a picatinney rail, if you only want to get out to 500 you wont need a forward angle, Leupold QRW rings are good and you can normally pick them up on ebay for about 60 quid
