Can anyone suggest why this P14 has had this area - along with the front barrel band - polished? At first I thought it was chrome.

I'm still humming dithering about rebluing parts of my P14 that have been similarly abused...

...what are you planning Redcat - leave as is and accept it, or try to fix?

As the rifle will shortly be for sale I will leave it as it is and let any future owner decide.
