RPA barrels....

#1 Post by Sim G »

I'm considering a 6.5mm rifle in the future, so started the planning now. Well in all honesty, I've already decided it is either a RPA GP Hunter in .260 Rem or the RPA Highland Stalker in 6.5x55.

I'm fortunate enough to already own two RPAs, one which has a Lothar Walther barrel fitted and the other, the original Archer barrel. Considering the "restructure" of Border/Archer, I wondered what barrels RPA would be using, if indeed any change.

Something I mussed at the end if last year, it seems that RPA have invested heavily in equipment to produce their own barrels! As with their actions and triggers, hopefully these will also be world class!

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Yeah, they've moved and are setting up to make barrels.

I've been in contact with Michael Markham (CEO) about finding out a bit more.

Hopefully I should have something interesting to share with everyone by the end of the month. They're still getting settled and set up at the moment.

Have they moved out of Tonbridge, Ste? I've always liked the idea that my rifles were made "just down the road"....! lol
