Hollow points in a lever action for target shooting
A friend told me that if you target shoot with a lever action then you can try your luck and ask for for hollow points or soft point expanding ammunition on the grounds of safety as there is less chance of an accidental detonation in the magazine tube from the primer being struck by the round behind it? Has anyone else heard this or have any experience of weather or not they would issue expanding on these grounds.

Of course not all hollow points are designed to expand............
Re: Hollow points in a lever action for target shooting
The 2015 Guide to Firearms Licensing Law, paragraph 3.21 states that for use in tubular magazines, flat nosed expanding ammunition is section 1. There is no requirement for the FAC to be conditioned. They are treated the same as hollow point match bullets.
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

For the sake of a comma I'm a little confused as to your meaning and which way you lean on the issue.
