Just received the email not one mention of anything outside of Bisley. Sooner they change the name to Bisley rifle association the better.

....a tiny "watch this space" type mention of a forthcoming booking, by the NRA, of a range facility in the North West.
Diggle, perchance?
Wonder if it's a one-off event to prove their new worldview?

I'd be surprised if they could even find Diggle. I have been reliable informed that they have
"Here be Monsters" surrounding the boundaries of their maps of Surrey.

I suspect that Altcar is where they are referencing, the NRA have held open days there before. I took some friends from Lancashire to an Altcar open day as well as open days at Bisley. They were good days and the new to shooting friends had an eye opener, a couple of them joined a local club for a year or two but gave in after that as the club they joined wasn't conducive to how they wanted to develop as shooters. It was handy for them at the bottom of the street.

I think the NRA were discussing range access for NRA members with a private range in Nottinghamshire maybe? This was a couple of years ago and I must admit I have not read anything on it recently.

Maybe read a little beyond the headlines.. If you can't stand the NRA or what they are doing .. then you have a choice.. That's the beauty of freedom of choice :-)

People certainly see (or don't see) what they want to... the first link I clicked in the email was for a CSR event:
"The NRA continues to work on holding an event at Altcar in May 16, initial plans are for a CSR
Marksmanship Skills Course on a Saturday followed by a Short Range Rural Contact Match on the
Sunday. More details will be posted on the NRA website shortly. "

I did not say I could not stand the NRA. I think they are doing a excellent job for any body who shoots at Bisley. They are obviously spending lots of money on the facilities its just a pity none of it benefits the regions.

I looked at the CSR and Target Shotgun sections of the bulletin and both talked about stuff outside of Bisley.
If I get my FAC back in time with 5.56 on it, I might look at going to that Altcar CSR date!
