I am struggling with getting a focus on the standard front post with my ROA and have been looking at a set of Williams Fire Sights that fit a Redhawk and wondering if they would be compatible?
Any other fixes or sight suggestions would be welcomed.

I'm not sure why you would think that changing the foresight blade will improve your ability to focus on the foresight?
Can you explain further please.
P.S. The Williams fire sight is made for quick acquisition and nor really for accuracy. You will find it hard to better the standard sights fitted to a Ruger Old Army other than say by replacing the ramped blade with a Patridge blade. Don't forget that you can always open out a rear sight blade with a needle file if need be.

I have a Williams Fire Sight on my Marlin and also a similar optic fibre front sight on my K22 both of which by the fact that they self illuminate provide me with a better sight picture. Effectively becoming a pseudo red dot. A few American forums have statements from shooters that changing to fibre Sights help with aging eyes. The standard blade washes out very easily at arms length at the moment and so a colour option seems favourite. I experimented with a small piece of fibre optic stuck on with double sided tape to the front blade and whilst it was too low to use it was much easier to see.
I suppose what l am asking if does anyone know if the Redhawk Williams Sights fit the ROA as it seems worth trying

I know the red hawk front blades fit. But you have to drill a hole.
What I did with my front site to make it more visible was paint the top half of the ramp with bright yellow paint. ( yellow was what I had handy! )
I found this made quite a difference and also gave me something to focus on.
Correction: I'm not entirely sure that they are "red hawk" blades that I got as the current red hawk has blade that fits from the side.

I think bright red nail varnish may be a way forward. Good idea to paint the front post.
Thanks.

I have got a prescription from the optician for shooting only. (An intermediate distance) It is a small price and has greatly improved my groupings and can focus on the foresight much better now.

If looking for replacement sights, Ruger Blackhawk are the ones you need.
But, try a stick on iris for you shooting glasses. Either something like in the link for 55 quid, or something from eBay for a fiver...

Aye complete with the preceptive prescience that opticians can help improve your ability to see.
Who would have thought that?
