I have just purchased and am awaiting its arrival, a machined brass insert to convert to to .45lc black powder loads from my MH. Some years ago a shooter at Mattersey was successfully using such an insert, anyone else got any experience or advice please?
Thanks in advance Dave.

I know not of which you speak but still look forward to meeting you and your martinis again soon!

There is quite a difference in bore diameter between the .45 Colt round and the MH rifle. Don't expect great accuracy.

Lothar Walther do a range of reducing inserts however I have never tried them, closest I have used is a 12 to .410

I realise accuracy will not be great with the .45 insert it's just for a bit of plinking at 50yds. I'm ok for standard mh rounds for genuine target and competition.

Any luck shooting with your .45 inserts in your 577/450, what was the accuracy like?
