Value of a Stock?

Without putting up an advert with no value (wots against the rules) - & because i dont do Benchrest so dont have a clue .........i have a benchrest stock to clear for a member that is inlet for a Swing rifle (the stock is a RH the action a LH) .................... what might be a reasonable value on Fleabay / Forum / FB Shooting?

its got a great big flat base under the barrel but the shoulder stock is a skeleton or cut out.

The cash from it is to offset the cost of building it back up as a 308 Target Rifle for a graduate in my Co so its a budget LH TR & we are looking for reasonable vs dirt values.

I also have a 24" 6mm BR barrel stainless ~4000 rnds typical wear patterns. The swing is a square thread so it may fit a P14.......? am sure somebody here knows all about that & will be along in a mo to correct me on that though? :run:

thanks Flip

Needs a pic of the stock really hitchphil. Sadly, a 6BR barrel with 4000 rounds down it is well past it - chuck it in the bin.

Yes - for an AR build you could cut off a good few inches from the thick end - if it's a heavy profile - and have enough good barrel left for your AR project.

picture of the stock..................... its a RH stock with a LH Swing TR action in it, but all that means is the gun is LH the bedding for a RH or LH Swing is the same as i now have one of each here. There is no difference. So the stock can take a RH/LH Swing or cylindrical action with or without recoil lugs. (with a little bedding work).

So whats it worth then?

Not really a benchrest 'competition' stock. Yes, it's got a flat underside to the fore-end but probably more suited to TR.

I'd put it on Ebay and see what it brings. If somebody wants it - you could get maybe £150

Interesting as the barrel was not a 6mmBR as per the RFD exchange but a wildcat 6mmx32 ............& its been snapped up :-)

The stock will make a guest appearance on fleabay........................
