would it be feasible to lodge a rifle at an RFD for say 6-12 months, rather than selling one, to give me a bit more space in the cabinet as they are a bit full atm.

I would rather not sell my 10/22 or anshutz match but they don't get a huge amount of use. I'm wondering if I could sign one over to an RFD, get a 1-4-1 and buy another .22 and if for whatever reason I don't get on with it, I could then sell it, and put my 10/22 back on ticket again. and if I like the .22 I buy, I could always sell it, or once I've moved, bolt in another cabinet and get it back as i'd then have space again

thoughts?

i'll have to see what prices folk are thinking of for lodging then. Really want a G36, but worried I won't like it. I want a fun .22 again

Storage charges might come into play and depending on the rifle lodged with the dealer the storage charges might get higher than the value of he gun.

It is down to your relationship with the RFD - As an example we do not charge for storage of rifles for regular customers, equally I do know of people paying GBP10/month per firearm stored.

I also know of a shooter who typically has a dozen or so firearms held on his FAC and stored at his local RFD at any one time (Free of charge) because he does not have room for everything at home. He just draws out what he needs and returns it to his RFD when finished.
