AR lower....

A guy in our club is looking to move on a SGC AR upper. Imagine rifle length, detachable carry handle, A post fore sight, A2 flash eliminator, right side cocking handle, but with a Wylde chambered 1 in 8" barrel.

I may be interested if the price is right but I currently don't own any configurable AR platform, but I'm considering this if I can get a fairly reasonable lower. I had a look at the SGC website as they have a "gun builder" format and choosing a lower which was A2 standard almost, except a up graded trigger, it priced that lower alone at nearly 850 quid!!!

Is that the going rate? Anyone bought just a lower recently? At that sort of money I wouldn't consider it a viable project. Any thoughts?

850 is daylight robbery. Have a word with Roger at South Yorkshire shooting supplies. He has dpms, bushmaster, aero precision and doublestar all in stock.

Lower receivers range from $80 upwards, generally around $120. So don't pay anymore than £200 otherwise you are being bent over and may as well import it.

All the SGC kits I've tried to swap round has turned out to be very well made but "Bob spec" not mil spec.

I've not successfully mated a SGC speed master upper or lower on any Cmmg or Lantac upper or lower!

I'd send the upper to Roger or Mark Bradley and then they can mate it to a lower. Depends which upper it is.Some of the ones I have seen are dpms uppers.
