You have an author giving supposedly expert opinions about gun crime in the UK, speaking absolute rubbish. Please check your facts because if you rely on this Iain Overton, you will look foolish and as a news organisation unprofessional.

His assertion that banning handguns (as he stupidly puts it) had a major effect on gun crime in the UK is a bare faced lie. Tighter controls on target shooters had no effect, has no effect and can have no effect on gun crime, armed gangs or terrorists.

Look at Northern Ireland, the only part of UK NOT to have pistols banned, has their gun crime gone up or down since 1997? you MUST check facts before letting these idiots voice their opinions on national television .

The photo back drop of confiscated weapons is also a joke, most of them being airguns or airsoft guns designed to shoot your mates with, like paint ball guns but without the pain or mess.

I saw a shot gun and an AK variant which might have been live or deactivated. Of the 6 pistols, 3 were airguns, 1 was a starter pistol, 2 might be real (or deactivated as the police include deactivated, toy, antique all as real). There are 2 air rifles and an army SA 80 assualt rifle which is an AIRSOFT TOY. The whole story other than the police actually busting knife weilding drug gangs is bogus and aimed to mislead....DO BETTER
