I had my last lot done by a chap in Cambridgeshire however when I recently spoke to him he was out of bone charcoal and was unhappy with the supplies available. I will check and see if he is back up and running.

Nice. A few years ago Marlin did the CBC, Cowboy Competition. It was a small run with 20" octagonal barrels, short stroke lever, plain furniture and chambered for .38 special only. Marlin didn't drill and tsp them for scope mounts and did the receivers and lever with a case hardened finish.

Glad to hear you're not refinishing an original....

It's a bog standard JM Marlin, always loved the case hardened look just wondering if it's actually worth doing, risk wise etc?
