A surprise story from the Paris terrorist attacks...
Didn't expect to hear this! Some have touted about the virtues of concealed carry, particularly when something such as the Paris attacks occur. Turns out, in one particular cafe, a couple of terrorists were killed by other people than the police/security services, who were armed at the time.
Turns out those that averted a massacre may very well be...... Drug dealers!

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Interesting !
I guess if you are a drug dealer and the resturant you are in is shot up by men with AKs, your first assumption will be that they are a rival operation targeting YOU ?
And if true, it opens a can of worms re prosecution !! I dont know if the French have a "not in the public interest" option but if I was their brief, I would certainly argue it !!

I think i would need to hear it from a more reliable source before giving it any credence, than the truth about guns.

Rather sporting of the drug dealers to wait for police arrival so they could be nicked.

It doesn't really seem to match with the time line of events from what I can see nor with the "official" view of 8 attackers in 3 teams of which 7 died in apparent suicide bombings.
My gut feeling is that it's an internet rumour, but who knows - if the EU can link the legal ownership of firearms to terrorism then I suppose a couple of drug dealers could be "good guys" in the right circumstances...

I'll agree with the website, "Truth about guns", but they seem to have just picked up on several European news outlets...

Interesting the French outlet TTAG links to is now showing Error 404

Still think it's an internet rumour that will quickly become "fact".

Police officers will now be allowed to carry their handguns on their journey home outside their working hours so they can react to a future attack.
A French Right-wing MP, Philippe Meunier, has even demanded that French MPs be allowed to "conceal & Carry".
While I doubt many of them has any firearms worth talking about, it makes perfect sense to me but I wonder why did he stop at MPs ?
Is it because most of them are largely responsible for the current situation that their life is more valuable than mine ?

Yves, have all of the Municipal Police kept their pistols after the immediate aftermath of Hebdo shootings? A colleague stated recently that the Municipal cops he'd seen around Calais and Dunkirk were unarmed, although in Paris, were armed, post 13/11 attacks, so he suspected that selective arming was back.
